DID YOU PRAY WITH US?

Did you accept Jesus as your Personal Savior?

Let’s walk through who is “Jesus Christ” and the term “Personal Savior.”

Who is Jesus Christ?

Many people will acknowledge Jesus Christ as a good man, a great teacher, or even a prophet of God. These things are true of Jesus but do not fully define who He truly is. The Bible tells us that Jesus is God in the flesh and human form (see John 1:1, 14). God came to earth to teach, heal, correct, forgive, and die for us! Jesus is the sovereign Creator and Lord, who died to reconcile us to God. Accepting Jesus Christ means more than acknowledging His teachings; it involves recognizing Him as the Lord over all your life. To accept Jesus is to accept Him as both Savior and Lord.

Have you accepted Jesus?

John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We observed his glory, the glory as the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

What is a Savior, and why do we need a Savior?

The Bible tells us that we have all sinned and committed immoral and hurtful acts, well short of God’s standard (Romans 3:10-18), and as a result, we deserve God’s anger and judgment. The only just punishment for sins committed against an infinite and eternal God is death and infinite punishment (Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:11-15). That is why we need a Savior!

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Jesus Christ came to earth and died in our place, offering His life as an infinite payment for our sins (2 Corinthians 5:21). His death on the cross satisfied God's anger and judgment, and His resurrection proved that His sacrifice was sufficient to cover our sins (Romans 5:8-9). Jesus' role as Savior is not just about forgiveness; it’s about turning away from sin (repentance) and trusting in His saving work (faith). Jesus, our Lord and Savior, is the only one who can bridge the gap between humanity and God (John 14:6; Acts 4:12)!

Is Jesus your “Personal Savior”?

2 Corinthians 5:21 “He made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Romans 5:8 “But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

John 14:6 “Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Acts 4:12 “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved.”

Many view Christianity as attending church, performing rituals, and/or not committing certain sins. That is not Christianity. True Christianity is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through faith and repentance. Accepting Jesus as your personal Savior means placing your faith and trust in Him, not merely in religious practices. This conversion requires both faith and repentance: faith is trusting in Jesus for forgiveness and eternal life, while repentance is a heartfelt turning away from sin. Sorrow for one’s actions, does not constitute genuine repentance unless it is accompanied by a sincere decision to abandon your bad habits and sins that are being committed against God (Acts 20:21).  No one is saved by the faith of others. No one is forgiven by doing good deeds. The only way to be truly saved is to personally accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, trusting in His death as the payment for your sins, His resurrection as your guarantee of eternal life (John 3:16).

Is Jesus your Lord and Savior?

John 3:16 “For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

Acts 20:21 “I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus.”

Romans 10:9-10 “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.”

If you want to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, say the following words to God. Remember, saying this prayer or any other prayer will not save you. Only believing in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross for you can save you from sin. This prayer is simply a way to express to God your faith in Him and thank Him for providing for your salvation.

“God, I know that I have sinned against You and deserve punishment. But I believe Jesus Christ took the punishment I deserve so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven. I receive Your offer of forgiveness and place my trust in You for salvation. I accept Jesus as my personal Savior! Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness—the gift of eternal life! Amen!”
