JULY RIDE SAFE - RIDE WITH SAFETY

Have any of you taken an MSF Basic Rider Course? Or a Harley Davidson Riding Academy Course? I am a MSF Rider Coach, I coach the Basic Rider Course, Basic Rider Course II, the Harley Davidson Riding Academy and this week I completed certification training to coach the Three Wheel Basic Rider Course.

I didn’t realize how different it is on three wheels, I highly recommend any of you that ride on three wheels take the basic course or at least get some quality parking lot practice time in on items such as crossing obstacles (much different than on two wheels), quick stops, lock ups (ride it out vs. release and reapply), braking in curves, swerves etc.

·         For example, crossing over obstacles on a two wheel motorcycle you would “blip” the throttle and raise up off the seat a bit; however on a three wheel motorcycle, it depends on how many wheels hit the obstacle, and which wheel(s); if only one or two wheels cross the obstacle you should remain seated, but if all three wheels cross the obstacle, then you should do the same as a two wheel motorcycle and rise off the seat a little. For two rear wheel motorcycles, if only one crosses the obstacle, it can induce a momentary oscillation of the handlebars (which makes remaining seated very important).

As always there is an open invitation for anyone to contact me or Danny and we will be happy to set up a practice course in our parking lot and go over any type of training you would like. This is just like your relationship with Jesus, it’s a matter of priority. What is important to you?

Remember Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour. -- 1 Peter 5:8 (CSB)
