In November we had a ride to deliver the pictures of our photo op at the ‘Hallelujah Festival’.  We had several that  were unchurched families.  All appreciated the pictures.

On December 11th,  we rode to the Wiregrass Children’s Home for a Christmas visit.  We ate pizza and cookies before the children watched a puppet show put on by the F.A.I.T.H Riders.  Then Santa came to visit and told them about the greatest gift ever given.  One of the children asked Santa (our member Doug Hawkins) if he was going to do any magic tricks.  Without hesitation he responded, “Yes I am going to disappear in a few minutes.”

On Dec 15th we rode to the Memphis Homebound families.  We took gifts of socks and lotion and sang Christmas carols.  We feel it was a huge success.  Everyone was blessed.

“What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, ‘Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” James 2:17

Merry Christmas and have a Safe and Happy New Year!!!!

First Baptist Church

Lakeland, FL

These past few months have been a challenging, but blessed time for the Lakeland chapter.  To give our members an opportunity to grow their faith, we have really focused on creating opportunities for hands-on local ministry.  We understand that each and every person has God-given gifts and talents which should be used for His Glory.  Our members have responded with amazing generosity as the Lord has provided!

Some of the things we’ve been involved in are providing Thanksgiving dinner to the young men of the Star Program, which is a resident male adolescent program administered through the Polk County Sheriff's Office; providing gift bags and worship services for the Bartow Center Nursing facility; providing Christmas gifts for two large families with children in need; direct motorcycle ministry at the Cocoa Beach Hog Rally; hosting the A.B.A.T.E. Toy Run for Lakeland where we served food and the gospel to a couple hundred bikers; and continued previous ministries like local bike nights, Lawtey State Prison ministry; and started a new emphasis on a benevolence ministry to meet the needs of our own people (WHEW!).

We have a long way to go but, God has been very good to us and we hope to continue being faithful to Him. Our ultimate goal is to see what God is doing and to ask Him what part He would have us to play. God Is Good.

“Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”

2 Corinthians 9:10-11
